Additional inspiration for creating RAD has come from the many people we have had the pleasure to know during our traveling days. A big thanks to all the vagabonds, gypsies, minstrels, magicians, artists, mermaids, yogis, spacemen, fairies, organic gurus, cowboys, and pirates in this world for all of the lessons you have shared.

Rusted Antler Designs ~ Handmade by Ruth

Ethical artisan leather accessories for adventurous spirits who value hand crafted wares, each built to last in the mountains of North Carolina. Homemade in the USA.

Ruth Turner is the original creator, designer, hand crafter, and overall magic maker behind the scenes here at Rusted Antler Designs. Ruth studied Industrial Design at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and took many electives such as jewelry, small metals and printmaking. She also did a semester abroad in London, and a course in Mexico. A thirst for travel and adventure have always been a big part of her life, and her inspiration.

Afterwards, she worked for 3 years in the footwear industry as a professional Design Consultant and Product Developer. During those years, she learned a great deal about production and design but there was something missing: the human touch. These mass produced items are manufactured on the other side of the globe, with the primary goal of being cheaper and therefore generic and lower quality.

RAD blossomed out of Ruth's spiritual quest to create hand made, ethical products that improve the experience of everyday adventures. She continues to keep practicality, uniqueness and whimsy as design traits throughout growth and new designs.

All accessories are made with 100% UPCYCLED leather or fabric, from factory excess, thrift stores, etc. Other materials are upcycled when possible, sourced through local businesses. Small footprints. **RAD strives to be eco-concious, community based and locally supportive, hoping every little bit helps.**
