One Mans' Trash

I have never been able to pass up an attractive or useful found object.  You know the saying, "one mans' trash.....".  I recently found a nice piece of copper sheet, still clean and flat, literally in my driveway.  I took it inside and cleaned it some more.  Nice weight, I thought, and borrowed my husbands' shears to cut it.   After cutting out a shape, filing the edges and etching a design with a small file (I had no real scribing tool), it became the focal pendant of a new necklace design - my Copper Pendant with Agates Necklace.  I can't wait to use up the rest of that sheet. ... » Read More

Apple Festival Sayville, NY

Attended the Apple Festival here on Long Island this weekend.  Although the turn out was great, the wind was terrible.  On several occassions my canopy almost became airborne.  I did hear of a few tents that were propelled through the air, damaging other canopies and creating havoc all around.  I was lucky enough to have another vendor/friend lend a hammer and some long pegs to stabilize my tent.  Thank you Leslie Maurer!... » Read More
