Set of 4 Wool and Mohair Dryer balls
Dryer Balls are an eco-friendly alternative to expensive dryer sheets. They are great for cloth diapers, as there are no chemicals or scents in them to irritate baby's skin or decrease the water retention capabilities of the the diapers.
What aredryer balls?
Dryer balls are made from felted mohair from my angora goats and felted wool. By throwing three to four dryer balls in the dryer with your wet clothes you have an environmentally-friendly method to soften your clothes and reduce the drying time.
The best part? Wool and mohair dryer balls pay for themselves in no time -- they should last at least two to three years!
How do they work?
Dryer balls work by agitating your clothes; by keeping more motion in the dryer, the heat is able to better circulate within the dryer. The agitation also softens your clothes. It takes a couple of tries to find out how many dryer balls are optimal for your particular dryer. Many people report 3 or 4 balls work best.
Do they require any special care?
Nope! You may see some pilling on the dryer balls. You can shave your dryer balls with a sweater shaver, or you can leave them as is. Pilling doesn't affect the usefulness of the dryer ball.
What about scents?
Want more fragrance in your dry clothes? Add a couple drops of your favorite essential or fragrance oil to your dryer ball, let it dry, and then toss the scented balls in with your laundry. Your clothes will come out dry, soft, and smelling like heaven!
One added plus, they make great cat and dog toys in case one of the balls is misplaced.
I make the wool and mohair dryer balls myself - I needle felt the core with clean mohair and wool and then I wrap it with wool roving. Then I wet felt it until it is the size I want it to be.
I have many customers here in our area who buy them for family and friends.

First of all, I try very hard to ensure that the colors of the yarn show up as much as possible as they truly are. I photograph them all in natural light with a high quality camera, however, computer monitors will vary tremendously in resolution and in color reproduction.
If you are unhappy with the color of a yarn or batt or mohair locks, I will be happy to refund your money or exchange for something else, so long as it is returned in the same state you received it in. (For example, if you return yarn, it must be skeined as when you received it, if you return a batt or mohair locks, the weight must be exactly the same as when you received it). Unfortunately, I cannot refund shipping.
Handspun yarn is NOT the same as yarn you would purchase in a store. It is going to have some variation and unevenness as a result of it being hand, not machine, spun. Handspun yarns are beautiful yarns that you will not find in a store.
I guarantee all that I sell, price, but
Naturally, if you are not happy with something, do let me know and let's see if we can work something else out to your satisfaction.
If you are interested in large quantities of yarn spun to your specifications, I will first send you a sample to ensure we are thinking the same way before continuing on. Charges for custom work are dependent upon the fibers used and the techniques required for finishing the yarn to your specifications. For example, two-ply yarn will be less expensive than three or four-ply yarns.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions about anything that you might have.
