This piece features the entire text of the 79th Surah in the Quran; Surah Al-Nazi'at, written in one continuous line that twists and turns to form a single eight pointed star. The text is written in the Diwani Jali Islamic calligraphy script. The scripts originates in 13th century ottoman Turkey. It became the most popular script used in official court documents because it's flowery and ornate, often improvised nature made it extremely difficult to forge.

This piece is part of a series called the Quran for Solidarity, which is an ongoing project by the artist, a non-Muslim American, to write the entire text of Holy Quran in 114 images, one for each of the 114 Surahs of the Quran. As of 2016, around 40 of the surahs in the project have been completed.
