Woodland Princess | crafted of .999 fine silver, rubies

I have always loved woodlands. I have walked among the peacefulness they offer all my life, each time coming away with a renewed spirit. I have imagined fairies and wee princess figures dancing just beyond my vision - and wanted to create a piece of jewelry that reflected what the imaginary creatures from my magical walks actually look like in my mind's eye. This Woodland Princess is one representative - I shall continue to draw from the others I imagine as I work at my bench.

If you are unfamiliar with metal clay, it is a product created from re-refined silver. Once it is a pure micron-sized particle powder, it is carefully mixed with an organic binder to create a pliable clay-like substance that a jewelry artist may shape, texture, mold or refine in a number of ways. It is a remarkable medium for metal artists, and can be added to traditional .999 fine silver wire and/or sheet products. Once the artist completes the design and refined it, the piece is fired at 1250F to burn all the binder away and allow all the silver particles to fuse into a solid silver mass...what remains is .999 pure silver jewelry. It's a magical transformation.
