antique silver 'warrior' bangle from Timor
This bangle was handcrafted by a silversmith of the Atoni people of West Timor Island, Indonesia. It was hammered from melted Dutch guilder coins which were minted in Holland and used throughout Indonesia during the 1800's. The silver content of these coins was between 72% and 94.5%. These bangles were worn by both men and women. Sometimes called 'Warrior' bracelets, they were intended to protect the wearer and also act as an offensive weapon in hand-to-hand combat.
The bangle weighs 87 grams. Inside measurement = 5 inches ; gap = 7/8 inches

Wonderful seller. They emailed me back very quickly. I asked if I could get this shipped to me before Christmas. Seller contacted me very quickly and item was shipped the next day. I received my necklace in 3 days. I'm very impressed by the quality of my necklace. I'm also very impressed with the quickness and professional way they handle business. I would recommend them to everyone. You will not be disappointed.
Lovely beads and nice packaging. Thank you.
Thank you for the parcel of above. I adore the necklace of silver beads from the Karen tribe, and would like more or similar.
