This set of 8 single layer cabochons has a slight edge of unencased dichroic down at the base. Two 6mm cabs, one in a rusty orange and one a brillant green, plus six cabochons all 7mm. three in an orangish gold color, and three in an greenish gold.
The glass cabochons are made by cutting and carefully layering dichroic glass bits, then placed in a kiln and fired, with more dichroic being added and re-fired multiple times for incredible depth and color play....(unless a special technique or otherwise descripted ). When I'm happy with the piece it is then shaped with lapidary equipment to give it a nice clean edge, then placed back in the kiln to polish the edge and anneal the piece for extra strength.
Dichroic glass is extremly hard to photograph, I try to represent the piece as true as possible.
