Caged Bronze Astrophylite

This 50mm circular cabochon of Astrophylite has a dense clustering of bronze-like filaments that almost obscures the off-white matrix. Caged in matte dark bronze beads, the cabochon glitters as the filaments catch the light. The neck chain incorporates bronzite beads as accents and has a bronze tone ball and socket snap clasp.

Astrophylite is a potassium, sodium, iron, manganese, titanium silicate with a hardness of 3.5. It is tan, brown, black and copper coloured with dramatic lines and star bursts of mica-like crystallizations.
