Siamese Cat Needlefelt Wool Sculpture-Medium
Regal, beautiful, intelligent, friendly and a little nutty-this Siamese Cat will be happy wherever you set her. She's 6" tall.
She's made entirely of sheep and llama wool rovings (just before it gets twisted into yarn-instead I felt it into sculptures), except for the beautiful turquoise eyes which are clear colored beads.
I made her with a single felting needle and the cleaned wool. Each time I stab the wool, the barbs on the needle catch the crimps in the wool and dense it into felt. All the different wools are in their natural colors-no dyes were used. This is definately a "green" gift! Can't get more natural and simple than that! There are no forms, no wires, no armitures. Unlike sculpture, each wooliture is completely unique and can not be exactly reproduced, not even by me! You will have a truly one of a kind handcrafted rare wooliture sculpture.
Although felt is one of the world's oldest textiles, needlefelt sculptures, using all natural wool, have only just recently started to be explored by artists. Be on the cutting edge and own an original wooliture sculpture.
I also offer three sizes of custom woolitures in this shop that I will make of your special feline, canine, equine, etc friend. I even prefer to make wooliture keepsakes of specific beloved animals for people.
I sculpted with kiln clays in the past, but this new medium is SOFT like our animals. It allows me to make flowing manes or shaggy dogs or long haired cats, instead of pretend to do that with cold hard clay.
Animals are so special and touch our lives in so many ways. Needlefelt sculptures are a way for me to use my artistic expression in order to honor that and I love every minute of it!
Thanks for stopping by this ArtFire shop and checking out this Siamese Cat Wooliture Sculpture.:) Have a great rest of the day!
